WHAT IS UNITED PHILLIPS?

United Phillips is not a separate or merged non-profit organization. United Phillips is a collaborative, a joint effort of Phillips West Neighborhood Organization (PWNO), East Phillips Improvement Coalition (EPIC), and Midtown Phillips Neighborhood Association, Inc. (MPNAI), the three officially designated citizen-participation organizations for the Phillips West, Midtown Phillips, and East Phillips neighborhoods in the City of Minneapolis.

For over 100 years, the Phillips Community has been organizing on behalf of its residents and despite our separations at the turn of the 21st century, the neighborhoods have continued to advocate for their communities and serve as loving stewards of the land. In 2023, the three Phillips neighborhood organizations represented here began collaborating closely to continue the legacy of the Phillips Community’s community-centered organizing as a unified front, honoring the distinct histories of each neighborhood and that of our shared histories.

MEET THE TEAM

The United Phillips team is made up of the staff from three organizations: PWNO, EPIC, and MPNAI. PWNO's staff remains entirely separate, but in 2023 EPIC and MPNAI entered a joint staffing agreement and have since shared staff members. Staff shared between MPNAI and EPIC work part-time
