Roers has plans
Roers Companies is purchasing and seeking to develop and operate an "attainable luxury" 165-room apartment complex. Does this match our vision for these sites that we fought for? Will Roers engage with community stakeholders and incorporate that into their plans? Will the community benefit from their plans?
In 2025, Smith Foundry and Bituminous Roadways closed their doors after years of polluting East Phillips and surrounding neighborhoods. This closure which happened through community activism, has drastically decreased pollution in East Phillips. Now, we need to organize to envision a better future for those sites. The future of these sites should be determined by the community.
